Same as above. I'm getting plenty of money from just picking up drops and selling them to the Merchant. Add to that, the fact that I've done every secondary quest I've come across so far...

As of yet, I haven't had any money issues. My wife has even come out 10k ahead and she hasn't even reached the NightFall mainlands yet.

hmmmm, right now ppl are farming for halloween collector items and selling for 100g each or selling the halloween items for 250g+. there's always troll farming but if ur into FoW/UW solo style maybe u'll just have to find a good 3 man team to do it together. i'm having no issuses getting money since the update, my only prob is finding the time to selling all my stuff i've still got shadow bows and shields to sell and lots of those new runes of vitae. but w/e u do to make money u should time urself and see how long ur spending on 1 run and then look at ur profiets for that run and if ur not making 5k+ an hour find something else.

well, you could be like me and simply not buy "anything that you want" and be a bit tight with your money. i did that and in about 4 months i amassed 650k with no farming whatsoever and very little selling.

Default Running

Running is a good quick way to make money.
If you have a lvl 20 character you can run ppl who are beginners in pre searing. Many of those "new players" are working thier second character and are not new players at all and they just need runs. A lvl 20 can run this pre easy.

If running is not an option then farming works good. Pick up every drop. Use expert salvage kits on anything that does not have a boost. Many item you salvage will get you some rare crafting material. I did two days of farming the same spot over and over I collected about 250 of almost 40% of all crafting material including rare materials (except shards and ectos and jewels).

Do some green farming in SF or Rotscale. Takes longer but you can still me up to 50k in a few hours.

Bringing over my charcter (<10k) and I was worried about all the skills I need at 1p. But just keeping 1 -2 cap sig and buying as I go along, I've been able to buy all the skills from the skill trainers as progress just by the awards and such.

How did you become broke? what did you buy? Did you really need that? Did you just buy a fow or 15k when you can buy 1.5k?

so you're broke now? What you need money for now? Something you need to buy? what is it? How much money you "wasted" on fow armors?

I just don't get you people. Out of all the things that cost gold in guild wars, what's the most important? to many of you, it will be armor. 15k ones and fow. =.='' I hate people telling me they're broke because they just bought a fow armor. Now they don't have a single plat to buy one skill. or a weapon mod that they need. Come on people, if you don't have enough money then don't buy fow, don't buy 15k. skills > weapons > 15k armors.

The most important thing for me is not armor, but skills. When you bring a character over to a new campaign, you are forced to buy the skills, rather than there being quests that give them as a reward. When they become 1k per skill and you have several characters/accounts over 3 different campaigns, things add up really fast.

I typically don't have a whole lot of money, but I typically range in the 50k-70k range. I have only been to the UW and FoW about as many times as I have fingers on one hand, and I'm not particularly a big farmer. If I need something, I'll usually grind for it, or do a small-scale farm.

If ANet plans to keep these changes, they should maybe change some other things. My suggestion would be that gold is not shared. If you have a party of 8 and you kill a monster and he drops 100g, when you pick it up, everyone gets 100g. They may have to drop how much gold an enemy drops (like 50 instead of 100), but it may help eliminate the whole "farming" thing and encourage people to get in groups to get gold together. It might actually might make things like The Deep, FoW, or UW really fun. Just a thought.

Let's see...

-over 800 skills being worth 1K each
-1,5 armor for 8 characters
-max damage weapons for 8 characters PLUS all their heroes (which is about 7 per character).
-needed stuff like ID kits/salvage kits

That alone is the needed stuff, and it is more than 1000K in total.

Putting that aside, I could use:

-max damage weapons with good/perfect stats.
-luxury items such as golds, Vial of Dyes, 15K armor, FoW armor etc.
-titles
-runes
-getting special armor for special things to do (such as Underworld etc.)

Even when buying the needed stuff, you waste more than 1000K. You just don't realize it cause you gain gold at about the same rate you spend it. However, for stuff like runes, perfect weapons, Vial of Dyes etc, the amount of gold needed is increased tremendously.

Pick everything up and salvage, then sell materials to other players. It's all profit (except for the cost of salvage).

When playing through the campaign and the whole camp. you really don't need max. out armour.I will use Prophecies as am example the highest armour you just need is either LA,HoD or Amnoon Oasis and this armour is good to beat the game with and keep playing through the game. The reason it is is becuase most mobs AI only uses low AL armour so in essece you don't need Droks armour. The reason it is there is if you tend on PvPing when you ascend

I have been playing a Ritualist through Factions Kurzicks campaign useing armour I bought at Siutung Harbour(sp). The AL of this armour is 45 and it is doing me very well through most of the missions and quests. When I tok my Ranger through Prophecies I used Amnoon Oasis armour for a lot cheaper then Droks and less mats used and being just 9 all different.it got me through 2 campaigns Proph. and Factions I am still useing it working on 15K though. My Rit. is at the Grove mission with that armour btw.

1. Buy the skills you need. You don't HAVE to have all 800 skills. Shop, figure out what you want ahead of time, and buy them. If you need to deviate, buy the skill or two you need later. No need to buy ALL of them.

2. Use collector's armor. It's free and provides almost all of the benefit of the 1.5K armor.

3. Use collector's weapons. They're free and just as good as the craftable stuff.

4. You can get free ID and salvage kits in the starter island in Factions.

That should solve your "I need 1 million gold just to barely survive" issue.

But then again, it is her own business what is she using the money for... I used to beg for money to a friend of mine... He used to give me 15k all the time for 15k sets. But you know, I used to farm my ass with griffon farming and give them all back :P So yep, 15k sets are nice to have and now after all the pve imba items got nerfed it's really worth having pve char because of the storyline and the different skins of armor and weapons.
